Blizzard of 2010

Day after Christmas we were hit with a blizzard. Luckily Kurt had already planned to take the next day as vacation day anyhow; so we were all able to play in the snow.

Aidan wasn't particularly fond of the deep snow; he kept sitting down and saying he was "stuck":

The snow was fluffy and didn't pack very well. So we ended up with a slightly pathetic snowman:

First Snow

It was only 2 inches, but you better believe we were going outside to play in it!!


Aidan mostly wanted to eat the snow (luckily it was fresh):



While Maddie felt compelled to shovel pretty much the entire yard:





The first thing Aidan did when we walked out the door was to drop down on the ground and make a snow angel:

Shortly before we decided to go inside, I found Maddie laying against this tree holding a stick. She told me she was roasting marshmallows on her campfire (gotta love their imagination):

I'm sure there will be many more snow days to come; but the first snow is always a special one. Luckily we didn't have anywhere to go because it took a good half hour to get suited up and out the door!!

Edaville (Again)...

We made our 3rd trip this year to Edaville last weekend. What can we say, it's the perfect sized amusement park for a couple of thrill seeking 3 year olds.

This time we went later in the day so we could experience the biggest holiday light display in New England (via a train ride). Well worth it!

Apparently Edaville is up for sale and there have been no takers. We're glad we enjoyed it so much this year in case it's not there next year!

Christmas Cookies

5 days until Christmas and we decided to bake some Christmas cookies (sugar cookies in festive shapes to be exact). Aidan was more into eating them as they came out of the oven:




But Maddie really threw herself into her work:

As you can see, Maddie's particular cut outs weren't exactly usable:

The whole process exhausted Aidan (we won't mention the numerous time outs he received for stealing cookies:

But Maddie couldn't be torn away from it; unil we said it was clean up time of course!

We made 4 dozen cookies and will be sending a bunch in with Aidan for his preschool holiday party (that is if he doesn't eat them all on the way there). Merry Christmas!!!!
